Why protection ratings matter for protective cases
Protective cases (protective boxes / tool boxes / equipment cases) are commonly used in photography, medical, instrumentation, military & police, and industrial field work, facing challenges such as water, dust, shock, vibration and rapid temperature changes. Clear and verifiable protection ratings are the first basis for procurement and selection. JUNZHJIA adopts IP67 and MIL-STD-810H as the product baseline.
Understanding IP67
The IP (Ingress Protection) rating is defined by IEC 60529, formatted as “IP” followed by two digits:
- First digit 6: Fully dust-tight — no dust can enter the enclosure.
- Second digit 7: Protected against temporary immersion — no water ingress after 30 minutes at 1 meter depth.
This means JUNZHJIA protective cases protect internal equipment during rainy transport, near-water operations and accidental water entry. Note that IP67 is not equivalent to long-term deep diving; for sustained pressure environments, choose a higher specification or a custom sealing solution.
Understanding MIL-STD-810H
MIL-STD-810H is the U.S. Department of Defense standard “Environmental Engineering Considerations and Laboratory Tests”, used to verify equipment reliability in extreme environments. Unlike IP ratings which focus on “sealing”, MIL-STD-810H focuses on “the survival of the whole unit under real, harsh conditions”. Typical methods include:
- Method 516.8 Drop test: Verifies drop impact during transport and handling.
- Method 514.8 Vibration test: Simulates long-term vehicle/airborne vibration.
- Method 507.6 Humidity and Methods 501.7 / 502.7 High & Low temperature: Verify performance stability across temperature and humidity cycles.
JUNZHJIA cases are internally validated against the above methods to ensure latches, hinges and the case structure still open/close normally and maintain sealing after shock and vibration.
How JUNZHJIA implements these standards
- Material: High-strength modified engineering plastic case + corrosion-resistant metal latches.
- Sealing: One-piece molded gasket, combined with compression latches to form continuous sealing pressure.
- Verification: Each batch is sampled for immersion, drop and vibration tests, with traceable records.
OEM/ODM customization capability
We provide end-to-end customization — from size, lining (EVA / foam / custom die-cut), color, logo silk-screen to structural parts. Whether standard or project-customized, the same IP67 / MIL-STD-810H validation process is used, ensuring customization does not change the reliability baseline. Minimum order quantity (MOQ) is negotiable per project.
Typical application scenarios
- Photography & broadcast equipment transport
- Medical devices & in-vitro diagnostic instruments
- Industrial instruments & test equipment
- Military, police & emergency rescue equipment
- Outdoor exploration & scientific expedition operations
